April Update

First I just want to thank you all for the encouragement and support over the last few months as we’ve gone from doing this part-time to full-time. I feel so grateful to have such great customers and I’m so glad to be doing this. It’s still stressful at times as I struggle with part shortages, printer problems, and the stupid mistakes I make sometimes, but then I remind myself that those are the problems that any business has and I’m still lucky to be doing this without any “corporate overlords” calling the shots.

Shipping Schedule Changes

I just want to give everyone a heads up that in the next few weeks (end of April til end of June) our weekly shipping schedule may change from week to week. We normally do all shipping on Tuesdays, but in the next few weeks there may be times when shipping is delayed until later in the week as we have some family activities and travel plans that may affect shipping.

I’ll try to put a notice on the website each week to keep you updated.

New Strum Fix Plus 4 Version now available!

This month we started shipping a version of the Strum Fix Plus 4 (SFP4) without LEDs. It turns out that not everyone wants a “flashy” strummer but they still want the advantage of the nice feel and snappy action of the SFP4. Anyhow, the SFP4 without LEDs is available now with white or black strum bars. Custom strum bar colors are available on request — just send me a note (guitar@bytearts.com).

New Guitar Design Update

I know a lot of you are anxiously awaiting more information about the new guitar we’re making. At one time I was hoping to make it available about the same time as the new PDP Riffmaster guitar, but I’ve decided to not try and rush the design and testing and make sure we take the time to do it right. We’re still on track to release the guitar in this quarter and I’ll be releasing more information (and some pictures) soon.

I’m currently doing the “not so fun” part of the design where I have to make sure that we can actually get the parts we’ve specified in the quantities and at the costs we expect. There are still shortages of some parts because of supply chain issues but so far it seems like we’ll be able to source everything we need and there’s no “show stoppers” so far.

Spring is Here!

Our winters here in Montana can sometimes stretch into June so I’m still keeping the snow shovels handy, but we’ve been having some really nice weather lately and I’ve been able to get the mountain bikes back out and kick up some dust! I know playing video games can be a lot of fun (in addition to Rock Band I’ve been playing a lot of “Avatar Frontiers of Pandora” lately), but don’t forget about getting outside and getting some fresh air! Playing a mountain bike game doesn’t count even tho it can be a lot of fun :-)

Best regards,
Scott
